In May 2013, my husband received word he was getting transferred through his work. This was not going to be your average, run-of-the-mill, pack-up-a-UHAUL-and-lets-roll transfer however. This move would shoot us into a completely different lifestyle living abroad as expats. We hope to use this blog to keep everyone up to date with our travels.  During my search for info for our first location, I was so relieved to find Jay’s blog (, as her first hand accounts were SO helpful, I am hopeful my blog can do the same.

The name of our blog is a nod to our Irish heritage. It stems from an old Irish blessing my dad used to toast to us on our last night in the states, wishing us well on our new adventure:

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Read along as we discover the people, food, and world around us! We hope you enjoy!! -K&S
